This collection draws from the shadows we all face—fear, doubt, loss, and isolation—while also illuminating the strength that comes from perseverance, creativity, and faith. Each page reflects a voice shaped by music, literature, and lived experience, capturing both the darkness of hardship and the light of renewal.
Written with honesty and passion, Walking Through The Shadows invites readers to reflect on their own journeys, to find courage in vulnerability, and to embrace the resilience that defines us all. It is more than a book; it is a testament to the enduring power of the human will.
TORN
When teardrops come down like rain
As our hearts begin to feel the pain
You meant everything
And to all that I know and will it ever be seen
From the days of our past
Will our love even last
From our talks so long ago
From whispers of words
I’ll never let go
But failed to grasp
You fell from the heavens but I couldn’t hold on
Our love that I once thought was strong
But the heavens pulled you in
Our love but where to begin
To hear your voice one last time
To feel your body next to mine
But the days have been numbered
Can’t you see
Destiny has taken you away from me
I sit in darkness just to see your face
From the tears I’ve cried, that fell from grace
Even in life’s darkest valleys,
God stands beside us. Psalm 23:4 reminds us that no matter the storm, we are never alone. God’s presence is our protection, His guidance our comfort, and His strength our refuge. Just as a shepherd guards and leads His sheep, He leads us with unwavering love. This promise anchors our faith and lights our path—even when shadows fall.
Life is not always going to be what you had hoped for.
There will be many challenges, expectations, changes
and people you loved gone. Just have to live for the day,
love for tomorrow and be stronger then before
The Son’s of Will.
The story of
Daniel Wilson
Creativity has always been the heartbeat of my life, shaped by the people and influences I admired along the way. For me, it began with music. The raw energy of the original KISS members—especially Ace Frehley and Peter Criss—ignited my imagination and taught me how passion can fuel creativity. Over time, my inspirations grew to include other legendary artists such as Aerosmith, Judas Priest, 38 Special, and Eric Clapton. Each brought their own voice, rhythm, and artistry, showing me the many ways expression could move people and leave lasting impact.

My love for literature came not long after. In middle school, I wrote a report on Edgar Allan Poe, one of history’s most gifted and hauntingly brilliant writers. His work left a profound impression on me and served as a guide as I slowly began carving out my own path as a writer.
By 10th grade, I was published for the first time. My poem Up/Down appeared in a Jackson, Michigan magazine, written during a simple keyboard class but carrying with it the pride of my very first achievement. From there, poetry became my passion, and my work was recognized with five Editor’s Choice Awards from the International Library of Poetry.
Even so, life led me to step away from writing for several years. But during the early 2020s—through the challenges of COVID and beyond—I rediscovered my voice. Writing became both a refuge and a calling once again. By 2022, I committed myself to the idea of creating a book. After three years of persistence, dedication, and countless hours of work, I finally brought that dream to life in the spring of 2025.
My journey has been far from solitary. Along the way, I’ve had the unwavering encouragement of family and friends, who believed in me even when I doubted myself. Today, whether under the name Walking Through The Shadows: Son’s of Will, my work stands as a reflection of resilience, creativity, and the many voices—musical and literary—that shaped who I am as a writer.
